Future Rope Core Memory (Prints)

Future Rope Core Memory examines representations of the natural world and the past, exploring their use as decoration in the domestic, urban environment. The code (computer programming) behind it models methods of ornamental composition to arrange a large image library into original artworks. The library combines floral and landscape imagery with traditional pattern elements. All code and visual content is original and created by Alex Russell. Each run of the code creates a unique, one-off artwork.
The library for Future Rope Core Memory features hand-drawn, painted and collaged images, as well as film, Polaroid and digital photography, plus code-generated content. The code is written in Processing, running on a PC powered by electricity from 100% sustainable sources.

All prints are archive quality, professionally giclée printed in the UK on acid-free, museum paper. Alex Russell hand-signs each one.
