Exploring ideas, questing for new things and pushing the limits of originality have always been the Amsterstampa goals in textile design. We think print design should add fun and expression to textiles.
All members of our team constantly gather information worldwide. We travel widely to visit trade shows, producers, exhibitions and friends everywhere. All this knowledge is shared every season amongst the team when we design our new collections.
To create a trend book that would make this information available to people outside our team was a fresh new challenge for us. So, at the Amsterstampa studio, we formed a team of trend specialists to create a book we entitled Mokummania. Mokum is slang for Amsterdam; in Yiddish it means "the place". This book has 6 themes that cover many areas in print for young fashion in the near future. We present our ideas in settings for these themes, offering colour variations and illustrated ways of using the designs on garments. All the images are by our team except for a few fabrics that are used to show the kind of qualities which we think suit the designs. The book comes with almost 150 fully editable designs on 2 DVDs.
We created the book with lots of enthusiasm. We hope that this shows and will inspire you to create your own wonderful work.
